3 x 5 Foot Flag of Deseret

Size

On July 21, 1849 Brigham Young and 9 others climbed what is now Ensign Peak and declared that an ensign would be raised to symbolize the sovereignly of the Kingdom of God.

We designed this flag of Deseret, a replica of the proposed flag for the State of Deseret. Sometimes this is called the Kimball Maguire flag, named for its designers who flew it from Ensign Peak Utah. It's also known as the Ensign Peak Flag, or flag of the Deseret Territory, the name of the region prior to Utah statehood.

From the Flags of the State of Utah site

There was no standard flag used to represent the Deseret Territory (1847-1896) colonized by the Mormon pioneers in the mid-1800s. Many of the flags had red, white, blue or just blue, white horizontal stripes, sometimes with stars of white in the canton.

This set of stars encircling a centered star is a reconstruction, based on a description made by an early territorial trader named Don Maguire who claimed he saw it displayed from a second story window of the home of Heber C. Kimball. Maguire was a non-Mormon who traveled to Salt Lake when Brigham Young died to make sure "the old devil was dead." It was he who made the highly speculative assertion that the flag had first been displayed on Ensign Peak, but the records do not support his claim.

Perfect for your gym, man cave, or seasonal decoration, this lightweight flag is made from high-quality 100% polyester poplin canvas that will stay opaque despite being printed on both sides.
