Tribune Religion Writers Confirm New “Mormon” Button is Key To Viral Hot Takes
SATIRE
SALT LAKE CITY — A religion editor at the Tribune confirmed today that he expects to be way more prolific now that he has a dedicated "Mormon" key.
"I'm way, way more productive! Now when I'm covering the Mormon Church I have a hot key where my M button used to be. I just hit the Mormon button and bam it types out 6 letters!"
When we asked about the repeated L, L, L, keys on the keyboard, he answered that it was intentional, saying, "the Ls are there because we have always posted a lot of Ls."
When we pointed out that the Tribune could have installed a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints button, and it would have entered 43 characters all at once, he said, "I guess we didn't think of that."
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has long had a request that media outlets use the full name of the church. So, when the coverage coming out of Salt Lake doesn't use the full name, we're glad they're signaling they're not serious about covering the church in an honest or meaningful way.
