For makers, artists, authors & musicians

Sell Your Work on Nauvoo Supply Co.

Nauvoo Supply Co. is a curated, multi-seller marketplace where makers, artists, authors, musicians, and small publishers sell to Latter-day Saint customers.

You are a creative, not a web host — so we build the product pages, run the checkout, answer the customer, and send you a statement.

You make the thing and ship it.

At the conference

The LDSPMA Founding Table

12slots. Meet us at the table, apply, and you get:
  • A decision within 72 hours. Not a queue. A yes or a no, from a person.
  • Your first five product pages built by us, from images and copy you already have.
  • Live on nauvoo.supply within 14 days of the day your files reach us. The clock starts when you send, not when we say yes.

Twelve is not a marketing number — it is how many onboarding runs we can do well in a quarter. When the twelve are gone, they are gone, and the thirteenth application goes through normal intake with a real answer either way. Commission is the same for everyone: no founding-member discount, because the discount is not the thing you need. The hours are.

Not at the conference? Apply anyway. Normal intake gets a decision within about two weeks.

How it works

Four steps, start to shelf

  1. Apply

Three steps, about three minutes on your phone. Tell us who you are, whether you’re selling yet, and where we can see your work: a link to your shop or your social account. Images come later, after a yes.

    3 minutes
  2. Get a decision

A person reads it. Founding Table: 72 hours. Everyone else: about two weeks. We say yes or no, and if it is no, we say which of the three reasons it was.

    72 hours / 2 weeks
  3. We build your pages

Send the images and the copy you already have. We shoot the gaps, write the descriptions, set the SEO fields, assign the SKUs. This is our work, not yours.

    Our work, not yours
  4. Go live

Within 14 days of your files. Your name is in the vendor field. Orders arrive, you ship them, and a quarterly statement shows every order and every fee.

Who this is for

A shelf's worth of work

Finished work laid out on linen: a stack of cloth-bound books, two sleeved art prints, a record in a kraft jacket, a folded shirt and a card of gold pins.

We do best with people who already have a shelf's worth of work: an author with a backlist and boxes in the garage, an artist with a print catalog, a musician with physical media, a podcaster with merch that already exists, a small press with a shippable list. One product is welcome; five is a business.

What the form asks about your work

Are you selling anything yet — and where can we see it?

If the honest answer is “I’m planning to make,” we are the wrong stop this year. Come back when there are boxes.

What your work has to do: speak from inside Latter-day Saint culture rather than explain it from outside. You do not have to be a member of the Church to sell here. Your work has to land without a footnote.

What it costs

You keep 80%. NSC takes 20%, and only when something sells.

Our cut

NSC commission — 20%. You keep 80%. On items you make and ship yourself, that’s 80% of the sale price. On items we print for you, the print cost and card fee come out first, then the same 80/20 split.

  • 80%
    Your share
  • 20%
    NSC commission, on sale only
  • $0
To list, to join, per month

You pay it only when something sells. No listing fee, no monthly fee, no minimum, no time commitment, no penalty for going quiet for a season. The card fee comes out too, the same 2.9% + $0.30 you’d pay taking a card anywhere, so a $20 sale you ship yourself nets you $15.12. The math is below.

What gets passed through

These are not our cut. We pass them through at cost and add nothing.

  • Card processing — 2.9% + $0.30 per order. Deducted the same way it would be anywhere else you take a card.
  • Music and audio — $1.50 per album sold. A distribution fee, said out loud here rather than saved for onboarding.
  • Print cost — only on items we print for you. What the printer charges us, taken out before the 80/20 split.
  • Print-on-demand setup — $0. Applies only to items we produce.

Payouts are quarterly, issued within 45 days of the close of the quarter, by Venmo, PayPal, or direct deposit. That means a sale in early January is paid in mid-May. It is the one place we are slower than selling it yourself, and we would rather you hear it from us now than find it out in month four.

Before you apply

Questions people actually ask

How much work is this for me?

Once you’re approved, send images and a link. We build the page. After that, you ship orders when they come and keep your stock counts honest. That is the whole job.

Will anybody actually buy?

We do about $67,000 a year across our Shopify store and our Etsy shop, to Latter-day Saint buyers who do not need the joke explained. That is a small number and a real one. Fine-art prints from our artists run $127 to $147; books and apparel move steadily; a new seller's first quarter is usually modest and then compounds as the catalog fills in.

When do I get paid?

Quarterly, within 45 days of quarter close, by Venmo, PayPal, or direct deposit. You get a line-item statement showing every order, every fee, and every dollar — not a single number. We collect your payout handle at approval, not later, so nothing sits waiting.

Who ships the order?

You do, for anything you make and keep in stock — we send you the order and a mailing label, you put it in the mail. If it’s something we produce (print-on-demand apparel and goods), we handle production and shipping. The commission is the same 20% either way. On items we print, the print cost and card fee come out before the split.

When does the fourteen days start?

The day your files reach us — not the day we say yes. We can’t build a page for a product we haven’t seen, so the clock is yours to start. It begins as soon as we have three complete products from you: title, price, a few sentences, and the artwork. Send anything else afterward and we’ll add it without the fourteen days moving.

What if a customer is angry?

They email us. We handle returns, refunds, damaged-in-transit, and “where is my order.” If a replacement needs to ship, you ship it. You do not run a help desk.

Do I lose my brand?

No. Your name is on the product page and in the vendor field. Customers buy from you, at our address, and they can follow you home.

Do I have to be LDS?

No. Your work has to speak from inside the culture, not explain it from outside. That is the whole test.

What if I'm not accepted?

Some aren't — that is what makes the shelf mean something. Three grounds, and we name which one: it doesn't speak from inside the culture, the craft bar isn't there, or we already carry something too close to it. Reapply in 30 days with new work. No fee either way, no penalty.

Are you the Church? Is this official?

No. Nauvoo Supply Co. is independent and maker-owned, with no affiliation with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Who's already here

The shelf you'd be joining

Indie authors, fine artists, musicians, apparel designers, toy makers, letterpress printers. Individual makers and small teams — not corporations.

Step one

Ready to join?

Three steps, about three minutes. The form asks for your legal name, email, a phone number and your city, then whether you’re selling yet and a link to your shop or social account. No images yet; those come after a yes. Selling here is not exclusive — keep Amazon, Etsy, your own site, and your book table.

Writing a book and looking for a publisher? That is a different door. Seller applications are for work that already exists and can ship today; manuscripts go to 40 North Press. Come talk to us about it — just not on this form.
