Originally published in 1830, the Book of Mormon is an ancient record of the peoples of the Americas. It was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith through the power of God. The ancient prophet Mormon compiled the texts of his people into this record, which was hid in the earth by his son Moroni before his people were destroyed by their enemies.
