The gold foil edition of the Book of Mormon was published by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints between 1973 and 1980 and it was meant as a missionary edition. This edition includes the Book of Mormon paintings that the Church commissioned from American painter Arnold Freiberg.
We offer a few copies of this book, ranging from very good to poor. You can reference the condition grading below to understand what that means. Even the poor condittion book is in one piece, with an intact cover, and is readable from cover to cover.
What does condition mean when looking at used books?
To ensure you have the best possible shopping experience, this grading guide describes the condition of vintage and used books.
New: New and unread with no signs of wear, and the dust jacket (if applicable) is intact.
Like New: Appears almost new but may have been gently read once or twice. No visible signs of wear on the binding, cover, or pages. No defects to the book, yet it may lack the freshness of a brand new book.
Very Good: Shows some small signs of wear but no tears on either binding or paper. The cover may have some limited signs of wear, or sunlight damage to the cover. All the pages may have minimal creasing or the previous owner's limited highlights or inscriptions, but the integrity of the book is still intact.
Good: This book is in good condition but will show signs of previous ownership. The spine may show evidence of wear and the cover may have creases or bends. The pages may include limited notes and highlighting, but the text is not obscured.
Fair: A book in fair condition has all pages and covers intact but may have significant wear and tear to the spine, cover, and pages. There may be underlining, highlighting, and or notes throughout the text, but the content is complete and understandable. This book may also show signs of moisture damage or staining.
Poor: Books in poor condition are still readable but are significantly worn. They may have severe damage to the spine, cover, or pages, such as splitting or missing pages. They often have extensive underlining, highlighting, and notes, or have significant water damage, staining, or other physical defects. Books in this condition are typically sold as reading copies only.
