About the author

President Dallin H. Oaks, 18th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is a prophet prepared by God through a life of scholarship and service. Raised by a widowed mother, he rose from a radio repairman to a Utah Supreme Court Justice. After serving as President of BYU and clerking for the U.S. Supreme Court, he accepted his call to the Apostleship in 1984.
